Acoustic music in an intimate setting

In a renovated Craftsman house on Seattle’s Phinney Ridge, Empty Sea Studios presents acoustic music as it’s meant to be heard.

Equipped with a top-notch PA, acoustic treatment, theatrical lighting and a hand-built mahogany stage, this multi-use space functions actively as a recording studio, production studio for live webcasts, and as a concert venue for intimate acoustic performances.

Since opening in 2009, Empty Sea has presented more than 250 concerts of acoustic music featuring musicians from five continents.  Our commitment to transparent, pristine sound reinforcement and an intentional listening environment has attracted a host of artists, including Mike Compton, David Grier, John Doyle, Dirk Powell, Kelly Joe Phelps, Mirah, Danny Schmidt, Jonathan Byrd, Pt. Vikash Maharaj, Kevin Burke, and many others.

Our concerts are also available live and on-demand in 4-camera HD video at The Roots Channel.  Artist-owned and operated, Roots offers live and on-demand programming across roots music genres, all viewable on your desktop, tablet, smartphone, and select set-top boxes.  An artist-friendly revenue model means that artists get paid 70% of the subscription fees Roots collects.  Click the picture to learn more about this one-of-a-kind streaming video service.

We are currently booking for Spring 2017.  Artists in ‘underrepresented’ music are particularly encouraged to inquire.  Generally, we book concerts in traditional music from all parts of the world, jazz, folk, and blues, string band music, and non-Western classical music.

In your email, please provide links to audio or (preferably) video clips of your group.
